Duncan MacMillan's Every Brilliant Thing is one of those works which will make you see the world in a whole new light. This one woman show is centered around one very simple idea. A child whose mother is recovering from a suicide attempt compiles a list of things that make life worth living. At her young age this includes ice cream and rollercoasters, but as she grows older, she keeps updating the list, taking note of the simple and sometimes seemingly banal things which give her joy.
A storytelling masterclass which also interacts with is audience, this exploration of depression and familial bonds is one of modern theatre's unique gems.
