Columbus Symphony - Mahler's Symphony No. 1

Why see Columbus Symphony - Mahler's Symphony No. 1?

Mahler's Titan

Columbus Symphony Orchestra is led by Rossen Milanov through Mahler's thrilling first symphony, Titan! Composed between 1887 and 1888, the massive work blends folk themes, nature, and the depth of emotions which form part of the human experience. From its dramatic funeral march right through to its triumphant finale, the work set the stage for his future symphonic masterpieces, as well as solidifying him as an influence on future greats including Leonard Bernstein.

Also featuring on the program is Jeffrey Mumford's excellend Double Concerto, featuring the talents of violinist Lauren Cauley and cellis Mariel Roberts Musa, with beautiful interactions between the two soloists and the rest of the orchestra. An unmissable concert!
