Why see Baskerville: A Sherlock Holmes Mystery?

The game's afoot in this hilarious thriller!

With the world going stir crazy over television's successful modern incarnations of The World's Greatest Detective (step forward Jonny Lee Miller and Benedict Cumberbatch), it's no wonder that Sherlock-mania has spread to the stage. The Hounds Of Baskerville is undoubtedly Conan-Doyle's most famous story, with horror and thrills galore. But this new show takes on a more comical aspect of the tale, with five actors playing an astounding 40 characters between them for a rip-roaring yarn through Dartmoor in a play that shares many characteristics with The 39 Steps!

What we get is a stage filled to Sherlock's deerstalker brim with suspects, allies, and horrified heirs in a zany whodunit. Following the death of Sir Charles Baskerville on the Dartmoor marshes, his nephew arrives to inherit his estate. However, tales arise of a bloodthirsty hound who stalks the moors, and Holmes and Watson are summoned to Devon to sniff out the culprit behind it all! Nerdy doctors, surly farmers, mysterious ladies all appear in this unique take on Sherlock's biggest adventure, coming to in , ,

Prepare to Laugh!

One of the highlights of our recent visit to Columbus was experiencing "Baskerville: A Sherlock Holmes Mystery." And what an experience! My sisters and I thoroughly enjoyed visiting the Riffe Center and laughing along with the rest of the audience as actors changed characters as quick as you can say 'Come here, Watson.' Every seat in the theater is a good one, we were able to purchase drinks in the lobby, bathrooms were clean, parking in the attached garage was a breeze. A great show for all but the youngest members of your family. Since we saw the show on the 2nd night of it's run, we're sure it can only get funnier as the actors become even more acclimated to their characters. Thank you, cast and crew, for an all-around fun evening in Columbus! ... Read more
